Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Nursing Assistant I/II for the night shift in the 19N Medical Oncology unit. Under RN supervision, you will provide empathetic patient care, monitor vitals, and assist with daily living activities while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.

Qualified candidates should have or be able to acquire NYS CNA certification; experience in patient care is preferred. The role offers comprehensive benefits and a smoke-free campus environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow physician and RN instructions accurately.
• Willingness to obtain NYS CNA license if not already licensed.

Responsibilities

• Change dressings and perform simple patient care tasks under supervision.
• Take vital signs and document findings in the care chart.
• Assist with daily living activities and maintain patient comfort and safety.
