Job summary

Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, NY is seeking a Nursing Assistant I/II for the 19N Medical Oncology unit on the night shift. You will support RNs in patient care, document care, take vital signs, and assist with daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• One year of satisfactory full-time patient care experience preferred.
• NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or CNA certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Change simple dressings as directed and assist with basic care as directed.
• Take temperatures, pulse, blood pressure and respiration rates.
• Attend to daily living activities and personal/hygienic needs to support patient comfort.
• Feed patients requiring assistance to ensure proper nutrition.
• Bathe, dress, and maintain patient dignity and confidentiality.
• May perform housekeeping tasks related to direct patient care.
