Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Nursing Assistant II for the Neurology unit on the evening shift. Under RN supervision, you will provide compassionate patient care, communicate with patients and families, and support daily living activities while adhering to high standards of care.

Required experience and a NYS CNA license or approved CNA training; a HS Diploma or GED is preferred. This full-time position includes benefits and is posted for 90 days.

Qualifications

• One year of satisfactory full-time experience in patient care under professional supervision.
• NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or CNA certification from an approved program.
• HS Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Change simple dressings and assist with enemas, douches and irrigations as directed.
• Apply hot and cold therapy (hot water bottles, aqua K pads, ice bags).
• Chart and document care and patient behaviors as required.
• Take temperatures, pulse, blood pressure and respiration.
• Attend to daily living activities and personal/hygienic needs.
• Feed patients requiring assistance to ensure proper nourishment.
