Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care in Brainerd/Baxter, MN. You will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and department leadership, helping ensure patient safety and comfort across shifts.

Shifts include day 7:00AM–3:30PM and evening 3:00PM–11:30PM with every other weekend, 0.7 FTE, and rotating 8-hour schedules. Must complete nursing assistant requirements and maintain state registration.

Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the following requirements for CNA roles.
• 6 months of patient care experience accepted.
• Clinical rotations completed in accredited nursing program.
• Nursing Assistant training completed within one month of hire.
• Nurse aide training program completed and current registry status.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients under RN/manager supervision.
• Assist with personal hygiene and nutritional needs.
• Provide comfort care and other assistance.
• Safely transfer patients and assist in mobility.
• Take vital signs and complete basic recordkeeping.
• Report changes in patient condition promptly to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment to promote healing.

Education

6 months of patient care experience

Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program

Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire

Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program

Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
