Job summary
Essentia Health in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota, seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. The role supports basic hygiene, nutrition, comfort, safe patient transfers, and accurate vital signs documentation.
The successful candidate will have BLS or be able to obtain it within 1 month, and complete the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation course within 90 days. 0.4 FTE with Day/Eve shifts, including every other weekend, all in a hospital setting.
Qualifications
- 6 months of patient care experience
- Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
- Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire
- Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
- Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
Responsibilities
- Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs
- Providing comfort care and other assistance
- Appropriately and safely transferring patients
- Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
- Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
