Job summary

Essentia Health Duluth - Miller Dwan Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant for the Med/Surg unit. This position supports direct patient care under RN supervision, helping with hygiene, nutrition, and comfort.

Shift options include Day, Evening, and Night, 48 hours every two weeks, with weekends and holidays required. A partial-FTE schedule (0.6) offers flexibility while contributing to patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• 6 months nursing assistant experience
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
• Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Become part of Essentia's accomplished team in Duluth, Minnesota on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior. We are looking for a Compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our Med/Surg Unit at Essentia Health Duluth - Miller Dwan!

Education Qualifications

• 6 months of nursing assistant experience
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
• Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Scheduling and Shift Requirements

• 48 hours every two weeks
• Every other weekend
• Rotating 8 Hour Shifts
• Day Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• Evening Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm
• Night Shift: 10pm - 6:30am

As a Nursing Assistant, you are responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.

Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

• BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date
• If qualified through the Essentia Health Foundation Course East Market (Excluding WI): Completion of Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation course within 90 days of hire
