Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Wheeling is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) for full-time night shifts. Compensation ranges from $17.50 to $21.33 per hour, with shift differentials for nights and weekends and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and BLS within 90 days of hire. Preferred: CNA certification and prior hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3+ years experience acceptable.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing using basin-less methods, oral hygiene, oral feeding and hair care.
• Conduct hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatments and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment.
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients' rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
