Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita, KS is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for full-time night shifts (7:00pm-7:00am). Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $21.94 per hour, based on experience. The CNA will provide bedside care to critically ill patients and support the care team in a post-ICU setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• CNA certification or hospital CNA experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, hygiene, oral care, and mobility.
• Perform hourly rounds to monitor patient needs and comfort.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and equipment.
• Restock supplies and support unit operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
