The New York State Department of Health seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide skilled care for Veterans in the Home, including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, transfers, ostomy care, ROM exercises, and assisting with treatments and daily living activities. May accompany residents to external appointments.
All shifts are available with alternate weekends off. Posted salary range is $57,943–$62,131, with additional geographic and other statutory pay differentials and a strong benefits package.

May accompany the transport of residents to outside appointments.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Current New York Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health St. Albans' employees with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Nursing Assistant Certified, Grade 8.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Long-Term Care Facility.
Additional Comments

Posted salary range ($57,943 - $62,131) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for grade 8, plus a geographic pay differential of $6,000 in addition to $4,0150 of Downstate Adjustment.
If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $825 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.
This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
