The New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at Batavia seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide skilled care to residents, including bathing, dressing, feeding and general hygiene. You will assist the health care team with treatments, observations and daily living activities in a facility serving veterans and dependents.

The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide skilled care to the veterans and their dependents who reside at our facility, such as but not limited to: bathing, dressing, feeding, general hygiene, transferring residents, care of ostomies, colostomy & ileostomy, maintenance of individual range of motion to prevent contractures, recognizing and reporting abnormal signs and symptoms of common conditions/diseases, measuring and recording fluid intake, and assisting the health care team in treatments and observations, along with all aspects of daily living care.

Non-Competitive: possession of current certification as a New York State Certified Nursing Assistant.

The posted salary range includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for CSEA Grade 8 ($51,025 - $62,699), plus an additional geographic pay differential of $4,150.
If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.
