Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by performing vital signs, hygiene assistance, and basic patient care on our Orange and Irvine campuses. The role requires effective communication, reliability, and the ability to float between locations.

Qualified candidates may hold CNA/LVN certification or be enrolled in an accredited nursing program with at least one clinical semester; BLS certification is required at hire. Weekend and holiday shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively therapeutically.
• Demon­strated patient care experience, preferably in acute care.
• Must be able to float between Orange and Irvine locations.
• Must have BLS certification at hire (AHA).
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies and operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks as assigned.
• Assist with other related duties as needed.
