Job summary

UCI Health, a major academic health system in California, seeks a Nursing Assistant to support patient care by taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and maintaining a clean unit. Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Must be certified as a CNA or LVN, or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrates patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and assist with patient hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment and stock supplies.
• Operate hospital equipment as directed and perform routine clerical tasks.
• Assist with other related duties as assigned.
