Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff with vital signs, hygiene assistance, and patient comfort. The role includes stocking supplies, operating equipment, and basic clerical tasks to ensure smooth unit operations.

Qualified candidates will have CNA or LVN certification, English proficiency, and current BLS. Flexibility to float between Orange and Irvine campuses is required, with weekend and holiday availability to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Current BLS certification (issued by the AHA).
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrates effective therapeutic communication and patient-care experience.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies and operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
