Job summary

UCI Health in Orange and Irvine seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and helping maintain a clean, safe unit.

You will stock supplies, operate hospital equipment as directed, perform routine clerical tasks, and assist with other duties as assigned. Must have CNA or LVN credentials, BLS, and strong English communication; weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Must be Certified Nurses Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in accredited nursing prog. with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA).
• Approved workplace violence responder training program within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
