Job summary

AnMed’s 6 South unit in Anderson, SC seeks Nursing Assistants to provide compassionate, hands-on care for patients across colon, lung, abdominal, bariatric, vascular, and trauma cases.

Qualifications

• Completion of approved nursing assistant training course is required.
• An exception for students enrolled in an accredited nursing program who have completed one of the hospital's approved nursing courses in their program will be eligible for this position.
• RN students may be eligible to be considered for Student Nurse Technician opportunities; students must provide a copy of their college transcript showing successful completion of class requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care such as bathing, skin care, turning and positioning, and toileting needs.
• Assists patients with meals, ambulation and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Obtains and documents vital signs and reports abnormal results to the patient’s nurse.
• Measures and records intake, output, height and weight.
• Participates in hourly rounds on patients, assessing pain, positioning, potty (toileting needs), placement of personal items and call light within reach, and VTE prophylaxis in place.

6 South is AnMed’s 28-bed Adult Surgical/Med-Surg Unit. This unit primarily focuses on colon, lung, abdominal, bariatric, vascular, and trauma patients. They also provide care for complex wound management, ostomy patients, and dialysis patients.
