Villa at Green Lake Estates is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager RN to join their team. The Nurse Unit Manager RN primary purpose is to manage the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility and ensure the highest quality care is maintained.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification required.
• Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college.
• Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages the nursing staff, scheduling breaks, reassigning employees as facility needs dictate, writing performance reviews, and enforcing policies with responsibility to issue Coaching and Corrective Action, as needed.
• Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, as well as other related departments in planning care.
• Develops and maintains care standards.
• Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
• Gives and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies
• Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
• Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc.
• Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
• Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
• Documents all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, company standards and policies.
• Completes the required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
• Informs nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment etc.
• All other duties, as assigned.
