Job summary

Paramount Care Centers in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Unit Manager to supervise nursing staff, coordinate resident care, and ensure continuous quality for a designated unit. This role blends administrative leadership with clinical oversight to guarantee safe, compassionate care around the clock.

Responsibilities include staffing, protocol development, performance reviews, and collaboration with the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

Leadership, organization, and ability to guide the nursing department.
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make decisions.
Positive interaction with personnel, residents, families, and external agencies.
Develop and implement unit programs, policies, and procedures for quality care.
Knowledge of nursing practices and regulations applicable to long-term care.
Patience, tact, and a professional, compassionate demeanor.
Annual TB skin test verification is required.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the assigned unit as a nursing administrator.
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain 24/7 safe nursing coverage.
Develop, implement and evaluate protocols for the unit.
Assess staff performance against unit standards and goals.
Conduct progressive counseling and disciplinary actions as needed.
Encourage staff to perform at their best and provide guidance.
Attend meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
