Job summary

SNF Rehab & Healthcare in New Jersey seeks a Unit Manager to provide administrative leadership and clinical oversight for a resident unit. You will coordinate interdisciplinary care, ensure 24/7 nursing coverage, and implement unit protocols to maintain quality of care.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong nursing leadership, a valid NJ RN license, and the ability to manage staff, budgets, and program development while upholding regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the NJ State Board of Examiners of Nurses.
• Leadership experience in a supervisory role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes expertise in the leadership role as a manager of an assigned unit.
• Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to ensure 24/7 safe nursing care.
• Develops, implements and evaluates unit protocols and standards.
• Assesses nursing personnel performance relative to job descriptions and goals.
• Implements progressive counseling and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Encourages staff to perform to their fullest potential.
• Provides supervision to professional and nonprofessional unit staff.
• Conducts shift meetings to disseminate information and set unit goals.
• Attends committee meetings as requested.
• Assumes nursing administrative responsibilities for weekend/holiday coverage.
• Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Identifies educational needs and plans staff development.
