Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist is seeking a Nurse Technician for Med/Surg 7South. The role focuses on bedside care as part of an invaluable care team, delivering compassionate support to patients and families while contributing to a smooth, efficient unit operation.

Responsibilities include assisting with care duties under RN supervision, improving patient experience, and maintaining a safe, clean environment on the night shift. On-site presence required at Brooklyn Methodist Campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant program with documentation.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (American Heart Association).

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

This position is a full-time day shift (7:30AM-4PM) located at New York-Presbyterian\Brooklyn Methodist, 3 weekends per month and rotating holidays required.

Preferred Criteria

• Minimum one-year experience as Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician or Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting

Required Criteria

• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program, with documentation of completion

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis including dexterity of fingers, hands, arms and feet with sensory requirements of speech, touch, vision and hearing to normal range with corrections.
