Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist is seeking a Nurse Technician for the Med/Surg 7South unit. This full-time, on-site role supports patient care at the bedside under RN supervision, contributing to a safe, clean, and compassionate environment.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and completion of a Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician program (or equivalent) with BCLS certification. Flexibility for weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program, with documentation of completion.

This position is a full-time day shift (7:30AM-4PM) located at New York-Presbyterian\Brooklyn Methodist, 3 weekends per month and rotating holidays required.

Preferred Criteria

• Minimum one-year experience as Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician or Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting.

Required Criteria

• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program, with documentation of completion
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification American Heart Association

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis including dexterity of fingers, hands, arms and feet with sensory requirements of speech, touch, vision and hearing to normal range with corrections.
