Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA, is seeking a Nurse Technician (NT) for the ICU to support nurses in a high‑acuity environment. You will be part of a skilled team delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care to critically ill adults and geriatric patients.

The role emphasizes patient safety, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and hands‑on experience in advanced care. A high school diploma or GED and Nurse Aide training are required; BLS is preferred or obtainable

Qualifications

• Completion of Nurse Aide Program or related field, or on‑the‑job training provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire.
• One year of acute care experience preferred.
• Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the Patient Care Team’s delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patients’ cultural differences.
• Transports patients safely and ensures patient activity restrictions are followed.
• Records daily I&O, vital signs, and intake in the EMR.
• Establishes positive relationships with patients and families and reports concerns to the care team.

Join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where you will work alongside a skilled and compassionate team dedicated to providing exceptional care to critically ill patients. As a Nurse Technician, you will play an important role in supporting nurses and the interdisciplinary care team while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity clinical environment.

The ICU provides specialized care for adult and geriatric patients with complex and critical medical and surgical conditions. Nurse Technicians have the opportunity to gain exposure to advanced patient care, continuous monitoring, specialized therapies, invasive lines, and the care of patients requiring a higher level of clinical support.

Working collaboratively with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals, Nurse Technicians assist with patient care activities, support patient safety initiatives, and contribute to the implementation of individualized care plans. This role provides valuable exposure to critical care practices while helping you build a strong clinical foundation for continued career growth.

How you’ll contribute

A Nurse Technician (NT) who excels in this role:

• Participates in the Patient Care Team’s delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patients’ spiritual and cultural differences.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in the delivery of patient care.
• Orients patients and families to the room and call bell.
• Upon admission, obtains initial vital signs, height, and weight.
• Records daily I&O, vital signs, and food intake into the electronic medical record.
• Transports patients via appropriate means in a safe, dignified manner and adheres to patient activity restrictions.
• Establishes positive relationships with patients and families and reports patient/family concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team members.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED. Additional requirements include:
