Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit. This full-time role involves 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday coverage as required, and includes an eligible sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

The ICU team delivers high-acuity patient care in a Level 1 trauma center setting. You will collaborate across disciplines, monitor complex patients, and support families while pursuing professional growth and continued

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Current ACLS, PALS, or ability to acquire within specified timelines.
• CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and perform plan of care interventions.
• Document patient care provided and monitor patient condition.
• Communicate patient status to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and facilitate transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Provide patient/family education appropriate to age and condition.
• Advocate for patient wellbeing and safety.
• Float to other departments to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.

How you'll contribute

ARegistered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Two years of acute care experience or One year of cardiac unit experience or Greater than Six months current employment as RN in a Critical Care Unit
• BSN, MSN Preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Current ACLS certification, Basic Dysrhythmia Course, Critical Care Course or acquire within 6 months of employment.
• Trauma Nurse Course current or acquire within 1 year
• PALS certification current or acquire within 2 years.
• CCRN Preferred
