Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit. This part-time role offers variable 12-hour shifts, with 2 weekends per month and major holidays, supporting high-acuity patient care in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.

As a team member, you will administer medications, document care, monitor patient status, and collaborate across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges and family education.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license and ADN from an accredited nursing school.
• Two years acute care experience or One year cardiac unit experience or greater than six months current RN employment in a Critical Care Unit.
• BSN and MSN preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Current ACLS certification, Basic Dysrhythmia Course, Critical Care Course or plan to acquire within 6 months of employment.
• Trauma Nurse Course current or acquire within 1 year.
• PALS certification current or acquire within 2 years.
• CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care tasks.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Coordinates with other disciplines for transfers, discharge, referrals and psychosocial support.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.

How you'll contribute

ARegistered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Two years of acute care experience or One year of cardiac unit experience or Greater than Six months current employment as RN in a Critical Care Unit

• Current BLS/CPR certification.
