• Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants
• Ensure staff compliance with facility policies and procedures
• Review and update policies, procedures and job descriptions
• Plan shifts, services, programs and activities with nursing staff
• Maintain Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure adherence
• Prepare and file required records and reports
• Transcribe physicians' orders and chart nursing notes accurately
• Oversee medication administration and narcotic records
• Oversee staff performance evaluations and staffing levels
• Coordinate with other departments to meet resident care needs
• Greet and orient new residents and assist with discharge planning
• Ensure clean, safe care areas and maintain resident safety
