Job summary

Broward Health Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale is seeking a perioperative RN to coordinate surgical services, including orthopedic and general surgery.

You will serve as circulating nurse or scrub, support clinical standards, and educate staff to uphold patient care objectives. Requirements include FL RN license, Associate degree in Nursing, 3 years of OR experience, current BLS/ACLS, CNOR, and AORN membership.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Three years of related experience in OR/Surgery.
• State of FL Registered Nurse.
• BLS and ACLS (current).
• CNOR certification.
• Member of AORN.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates specialty surgical services (e.g., orthopedic, ophthalmology, neuro, general, GYN, urology, plastics, ENT, CV, cardiac, or minimally invasive surgery).
• Performs duties as circulating nurse or scrub person.
• Promotes clinical standards for the surgery service and staff education in surgery/AORN standards.

Summary:
Coordinates specialty services such as orthopedic ophthalmology neuro general GYN urology plastics ENT CV cardiac or minimally invasive surgery (including advanced da Vinci and Hybrid). Performs duties as a circulating nurse or scrub person. Assists in establishing and promoting clinical standards for the surgery service as well as staff education in surgery/AORN member standards to support patient care objectives.
Previous RNexperience in a Hospital Acute Care setting within the past three years is mandatory along with OR/Surgery experience in all specialty areas. Must be able to circulate in all specialty areas scrubbing experience is a plus.Solid interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills required. Must be able to delegate and make decisions that are fair and in line with the vision and mission of BHMC. Ability to bea resource for staff and physicians with positive relationship building. Must be a patient advocate and be able to function in a highly intense environment.

Education

• Associate's degree in a Nursing Program from an Accredited School of Nursing

Experience

• Three years of related experience in covered specialties

• American Heart or Red Cross BLS and ACLS (current)
• Certified Perioperative Nurse(CNOR)
