Job summary

Broward Health in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nurse to provide specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures during the intra-operative phase.

You will scrub CVOR procedures, perform pre-operative assessments, administer medications, and ensure infection control standards are followed. Requires an Associate's degree in nursing, 3+ years of RN OR experience with CVOR preferred, and a current FL RN license with BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• RN operating room experience preferred.
• CVOR experience considered a plus.
• Current Florida RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessment of patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and provide treatments.
• Observe and document patient progress and report reactions.
• Maintain infection control policies and standards.

Summary

In this role Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse under general supervision renders professional specialized care and support to patients undergoing cardiac procedures during the intra-operative phase. In doing so possesses a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology a strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and ability to scrub cardiovascular procedures. Performs pre-operative assessment of the patients’ condition administers prescribed medications provide treatments observes patients’ progress records pertinent observations and report reactions to medication and treatments. CVOR Nurse ensures compliance with all infection control policies and standards. Assist physicians with examinations and prepare instruments and equipment for physicians’ use.

Education

• Associate's degree in a Nursing Program from an Accredited School of Nursing

Experience

• 3+ years of RN Operating Room experience
• 1+ year of CVOR experience

Credentials

• State of FL RN license
• American Heart or Red Cross BLS and ACLS (current)
