Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice in Richland, MS is seeking an experienced PRN Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice healthcare team. The position offers responsibilities for primary and palliative care to home-bound patients, with a focus on health maintenance and disease prevention.

Qualified candidates will have a Mississippi license and 2+ years as a Nurse Practitioner; hospice or palliative care experience is preferred, and EMR experience is a plus. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for home-bound patients

• Interpret laboratory and test results
• Prescribe and manage medications and therapies with emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention

Essential daily duties include:

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for chronic and acute illnesses to patients who are home-bound or have difficulty traveling to a physician’s office
• Provide physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases
• Interpret laboratory and test results
• Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies all with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention

Qualifications:

• Current Mississippi license required
• Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner
• Problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations
• Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred
• Experience EMR preferred
