Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice in Richland, MS seeks an experienced PRN Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice healthcare team. The role focuses on providing compassionate primary and palliative care to home-bound patients in the Richland area.

This PRN position requires an active Mississippi NP license and at least two years of NP experience. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and EMR familiarity are preferred to support high-quality patient care in a team-based setting.

Qualifications

• Mississippi NP license required.
• Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary medical and palliative care for home-bound patients.
• Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases.
• Interpret laboratory and test results.
• Prescribe and manage medications and therapies with emphasis on health maintenance and prevention.

Essential Daily Duties Include

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for chronic and acute illnesses to patients who are home-bound or have difficulty traveling to a physician’s office
• Provide physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases
• Interpret laboratory and test results
• Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies all with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention

Qualifications

• Current Mississippi license required
• Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations
• Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred
• Experience EMR preferred
