Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice seeks a PRN Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice team serving the Richland, MS area. You will provide primary and palliative care to home-bound patients, perform exams, diagnose conditions, interpret tests, and manage medications in a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Two+ years as a Nurse Practitioner and Mississippi license are required. Hospice experience is preferred, EMR familiarity is advantageous, and ESOP benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current Mississippi license required.
• Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR preferred.
• ESOP – company-owned ownership is available as a benefit (not required).

Responsibilities

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for home-bound patients or those with travel difficulties.
• Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases.
• Interpret laboratory and test results.
• Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies with emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention.

Essential daily duties include:

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for chronic and acute illnesses to patients who are home-bound or have difficulty traveling to a physician’s office
• Provide physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases
• Interpret laboratory and test results
• Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies all with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention

Qualifications:

• Problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations
• Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred
• Experience EMR preferred
