The NP will provide comprehensive medical services under supervision, perform exams and chronic care, document in SOAP format, respond to emergencies, and assist with admissions, transfers and referrals. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in medical/surgical, emergency/trauma, and corrections preferred.
• Ability to rotate hours and shifts; on-call coverage if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care to inmates, including exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds.
• Maintains SOAP progress notes and adheres to formulary guidelines.
• Responds to emergencies and handles non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals.
• Supports policies for admission, transfer, and specialty referrals.
• Maintains confidentiality and contributes to facility committees.
