Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse for our outpatient program in Billerica, MA. The role runs 16 hours per week, 5:30am to 2:00pm, with weekend shifts as outlined. A $2,500 bonus is offered.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, client education, and coordination with physicians to verify orders. Prior substance use/mental health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current CPR certificate or certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse setting with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to clients per policy.
• Control, count, and document onsite medication appropriately.
• Educate clients on medication use, purpose, and side effects.
• Verify medication orders with physicians and transcribe orders.
• Assist in admission and document substance use diagnoses as required.

Location: Billerica, MA - Outpatient Treatment Program and will be within the Middlesex House of Correction

Schedule: Part-time. 16 hours a week, 5:30am - 2:00pm

Week 1: Sunday - Monday

Week 2: Monday - Saturday

Pay rate: $36.50/hour (LPN), $38.50/hour (RN). $3.00/hour weekend differential

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse is responsible for:

• Administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy.
• The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
• Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment.
• Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribes physician's orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use diagnosis as required.

Qualifications:

• Must be a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
