Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse for an outpatient treatment program in Billerica, MA. The role involves medication administration, documentation, and patient education within a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule is 16 hours per week, 5:30am–2:00pm, with weekend work and a $2,500 bonus. CPR certification required within 90 days of hire, and prior substance use/mental health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Current CPR certificate or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use independent judgment in emergencies.
• Excellent written and oral communication in diverse settings.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health or acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per policy.
• Control, count and document onsite medication.
• Educate clients on medication-assisted treatment.
• Verify orders with physician and transcribe orders.
• Assist in admission and document substance use diagnosis.

Schedule

Week 1: Sunday - Monday
Week 2: Monday - Saturday

Pay rate

$36.50/hour (LPN), $38.50/hour (RN). $3.00/hour weekend differential

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse Is Responsible For

• Administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy.
• The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
• Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment.
• Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribes physician’s orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use diagnosis as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
