Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems in Massachusetts is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse for a part-time outpatient program, primarily in Waltham with some duties in Billerica. The position offers 16 hours weekly, with a 5:30am–2:00pm schedule and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

You will administer medications, document inventory, educate clients on MAT, verify orders with physicians, and assist in admissions while documenting diagnoses. Strong communication in diverse teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of independent judgment to determine actions in emergencies.
• Must communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health or an acute care inpatient environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to clients as outlined in policy.
• Control, count and document onsite medication.
• Educate clients on use, purpose, side effects, and MAT information.
• Verify medication orders with the physician and transcribe orders.
• Assist in admission and document substance use diagnosis as required.

Location: Billerica, MA - Outpatient Treatment Program and will be within the Middlesex House of Correction

Schedule: Part-time. 16 hours a week, 5:30am - 2:00pm

Week 1: Sunday - Monday

Week 2: Monday - Saturday

Pay rate: $36.50/hour (LPN), $38.50/hour (RN). $3.00/hour weekend differential

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse is responsible for:

• Administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy.
• The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
• Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment.
• Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribes physician's orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use diagnosis as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
