Job summary

Advocate Health's Maternity unit in Charlotte, NC seeks a Nurse Manager to lead the LDRP team, NICU, lactation services and childbirth education. You will oversee clinical and operational functions, promote safety, and ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.

Ideal candidate has maternity nursing leadership experience, eligible RN licensure in NC, and a track record in staff development and performance improvement. Excellent collaboration with OB-GYN groups is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• MSN preferred; MSN required within 5 years if under BSN.
• Enrollment in MSN within 1 year of hire and graduation within 5 years.
• If BSN, a Master's in health-related field or MBA acceptable.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Professional certification (clinical or leadership) within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a Professional Practice model and collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to achieve outcomes.
• Ensure unit operations and staff comply with Nursing Practice Act and standards.
• Work as a team member to meet unit and organizational goals with quality care.
• Lead recruitment and retention, orientation, credentialing, and professional development.
• Delegate through shared governance and promote research to improve outcomes.
• Perform nursing care, assist with treatments and medications.
• Provide patient and family education and support.
• Engage in performance improvement to enhance quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Contribute to policy development reflecting evidence-based practice.
• Promote shared accountability for professional practice and budget oversight.
