Job summary

Advocate Health's Labor & Delivery department in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Nursing Manager to lead clinical operations, staff development, and patient care coordination.

You will supervise nursing personnel, ensure regulatory compliance, participate in staffing decisions, and collaborate with clinicians to deliver compassionate, high-quality care for mothers and newborns.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the appropriate state.
• Minimum two years nursing experience; management experience preferred.
• BSN required; RN candidates without BSN must enroll in BSN within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
• BLS required; professional certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager by enhancing nursing practice and delivery of care.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinates communication via staff meetings and huddles.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state laws and policies.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess care quality and satisfaction.
• Delegates care elements to appropriate healthcare workers.
• Identifies outcomes to guide continuity of care and operations.
• Evaluates progress toward outcomes and disseminates information to the team.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments and medications.
• Coordinates patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity.
