Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Labor & Delivery team in North Carolina. The role provides leadership over nursing practice, staff supervision, and coordination of care in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

You will oversee interviews, ensure compliance with laws and policies, and manage patient flow and staffing with strong clinical support, professional development, and a culture of teamwork and compassion. BSN required; RN license and certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• BSN required.
• RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Appropriate professional certification within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance nursing practice, nursing service administration and care delivery.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinates communication at regular intervals through shifts via staff meetings/huddles to exchange information.
• Ensures understanding and compliance with federal/state laws and policies.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess satisfaction and care operations.
• Delegates care elements to appropriate healthcare workers within policy parameters.
• Identifies expected outcomes to guide continuity of care and department operations.
• Evaluates progress toward goal attainment and disseminates information to care teams.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments and medications as needed.
• Coordinates patient flow and staffing through ongoing assessment of volume/acuity.
