Nurse Manager, AC - Duke Primary Care Durham Pediatrics
Duke Primary Care Durham Pediatrics seeks to hire a NURSE MANAGER who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.
Location: 2609 North Duke Street, Suite 1000, Durham, NC 27704
Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday, with some Saturday mornings 8am - 12pm
Summary:
- Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a DUHS Clinic.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs, and activities.
- Manage multi-specialty nursing services delivered within the clinic, overseeing patients and staff.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work of the clinic.
- Manage personnel actions including hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, scheduling, and counseling, including formal discipline of clinical staff.
- Collaborate in developing, implementing, and expanding learning opportunities and skill development for staff.
- Analyze, develop, and maintain an effective nursing care delivery system that reflects patient and family needs across the continuum, achieving desired outcomes.
- Promote education for patients, families, and the community; participate in direct patient care activities as a role model or for information gathering.
- Collaborate with nursing colleagues to promote optimal utilization of nursing resources among clinics.
- Identify clinical operational needs; manage equipment and supplies, and monitor maintenance.
- Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure patient comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, JCAHO, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Health Center Administrator/Nurse Manager on fiscal requirements; submit budgetary recommendations, including staffing and materials.
- Cultivate exemplary customer service; promote effective communication, problem-solving, assertiveness, team support, feedback, active listening, and conflict management.
- Develop and implement processes for ongoing quality improvement.
- Develop, document, implement, and monitor policies and procedures aligned with the clinic's mission and objectives.
- Manage the clinic in the absence of the Healthcare Administrator/Practice Manager; be available on-call for emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.
- Three years of nursing experience required.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications:
- Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina; BCLS certification required.
- Leadership certification within three months of hire for nurses in leadership roles.
- Ineligible nurses must obtain certification within three months of eligibility.
