Position Overview

The Durham VA Healthcare System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Manager to oversee our Surgical Specialty Clinics. The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership and innovative approaches to managing complex patient care, and is accountable for patient care management, human and fiscal resources, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations, including care coordination, patient flow, and ensuring quality care.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach nursing and support staff.
  • Implement quality improvement activities to monitor performance and develop improvement plans.
  • Maintain survey readiness and ensure compliance with standards regarding reusable medical equipment.
  • Foster teamwork to achieve positive patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Valid, unrestricted nursing license from any US state or territory
  • Ability to pass background checks and physical examination
  • Participation in vaccination programs as required
