Job Location

Duke Children's Health Center Nephrology Clinic, Durham, NC; Duke Children's Nephrology Greensboro, Greensboro, NC.

Job Summary

We seek an Advanced Practice Provider for our Duke Children's Health Center Nephrology Clinic in Durham and Greensboro. The role involves collaborating with physicians and other providers to collect data, perform procedures, order labs, and provide patient care. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, flexible to clinic needs, with no inpatient support in Greensboro.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, record findings, and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Round on pediatric nephrology inpatient consults daily.
  • Take patient histories, conduct exams, document data, and develop therapeutic relationships.
  • Order and coordinate labs, procedures, and treatments, explaining these to patients.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team activities for inpatient and outpatient renal care.
Job Eligibility Requirements
Education
  • Nurse Practitioners: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited PA program; Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
Certification
  • BLS required.
License
  • Nurse Practitioners: Current NC RN license, national NP certification, BLS.
  • Physician Assistants: NC license, NCCPA certification.
Experience
  • At least 1 year of APP experience preferred.
Job Hours

Monday to Friday, hours flexible to clinic and dialysis needs.
