Job summary

Milestone Inc. seeks a nursing supervisor for Elmwood Heights to oversee care for developmentally disabled individuals and act as the primary nurse for assigned residents.Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will supervise facility nurses, coordinate medical services, and ensure accurate health records and timely care delivery.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Illinois.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prefer one year of experience with geriatrics/developmentally disabled.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the overall care, treatment, safety, comfort and wellbeing of residents.
• Acts as liaison for Milestone, Inc. programs and communicates health status and med changes to families as needed.
• Provides nursing consultation to other Milestone, Inc. programs and serves as primary nurse for assigned individuals.
• Supports interviewing and hiring of nursing staff; assists with corrective actions and performance evaluations.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers; participates in IDT meetings and care planning.
• Manages medical records, schedules appointments, labs, and immunizations; ensures timely documentation.
• Participates in QA activities and develops/implements facility policies and procedures.
• Acts as on-call supervisor for staff nurses on a rotating basis; assists with annual reports and staffing considerations.
