Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX seeks a Charge Nurse to assume shift responsibility and lead a multidisciplinary nursing team in delivering direct and indirect patient care with a patient-centered focus. You will coordinate staff, promote safe, high-quality outcomes, and provide professional leadership in alignment with the facility's mission and values.

This role supports ongoing development within UHS and its affiliated facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• BSN required, or must be enrolled in program with completion within 2 years.
• Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days and maintain certification throughout employment.
• Minimum of one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care; supervisory experience preferred.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) as required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education.
• Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources, as needed.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
• The RN will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions.
• The RN will comply with appropriate and approved standards, as outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies.
• The RN will comply with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self, co-workers, patients, and visitors.
• The concepts of the patient centered care delivery model will provide the foundation for all nursing care.
