Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX, seeks an experienced Charge Nurse to lead nursing teams and ensure safe, patient-centered care across shifts.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary staff, manage care plans, and support the facility's mission and values. An active Texas RN license with BLS and leadership aptitude is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation).
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; does not require maintaining.
• Ongoing demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care.
• Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members and directs nursing staff for safe, optimal health care outcomes.
• Leads the unit to meet facility vision, mission and goals; demonstrates Patient Centered Care.
• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team and maintains safety standards.
• Ensures appropriate staffing for each shift based on census, acuity and resources.
