Zusammenfassung

MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute invites a Nursing Intern to join the Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke Unit, 5N. You will work with RNs, LPNs, and care teams to assist with neurological assessments, ADLs, and mobility training, while gaining hands-on experience in a premier inpatient rehabilitation setting.

Eligible nursing students enrolled in accredited programs will gain exposure to vital signs monitoring, IV care, Foley management, wound care, and interprofessional collaboration within a

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled nursing student with fundamentals completed and active clinical rotations.
• Learner will perform basic patient care under supervision and follow hospital policies.
• Compliance with BLS and departmental protocols is required.

Aufgaben

• Assist Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke Unit with patient care tasks.
• Monitor vitals and respond to changes under supervision.
• Assist with ADLs, mobility transfers, and basic wound care as needed.
• Document care and communicate with RN staff and physicians.

Primary Patient Population:

• Stroke Rehabilitation

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Neurological assessments
• Adaptive ADLs
• Transfer/Mobility training
• Vital signs, IVs, Foley Catheter insertion/removal, Wound care, etc.

Personnel Nurse Intern will work with:

• RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit:

• 14 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Completed fundamentals of nursing
• Currently registered in clinical rotations
• Continuous enrollment in a nursing programEligibility to continue in the position is a maximum of 6 months upon graduating from nursing school
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
