The MetroHealth System in Cleveland is seeking a Nurse Intern to join the Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke Unit, 5N. You'll assist in neurological assessments, mobility training, and patient care under supervision in a 14-bed inpatient unit.

Primary Patient Population

• Stroke Rehabilitation

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• Neurological assessments
• Adaptive ADLs
• Transfer/Mobility training
• Vital signs, IVs, Foley Catheter insertion/removal, Wound care, etc.

Personnel Nurse Intern Will Work With

• RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number Of Beds On Unit

• 14 beds

Required Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Completed fundamentals of nursing
• Currently registered in clinical rotations
• Continuous enrollment in a nursing program
• Eligibility to continue in the position is a maximum of 6 months upon graduating from nursing school
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
