Research Medical Center in Missouri is seeking a Nurse Extern Student to gain hands-on experience on the nursing team. You will support RN staff, assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, and learn essential patient-care skills while progressing through your nursing program.

Qualifications

• Requires active enrollment in an RN nursing program and completion of nursing fundamentals by start date.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with supervisor to build personal career development plan
