Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, part of Mission Health, is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Cardiovascular Progressive Care unit on a PRN basis. You will gain hands-on nursing experience while delivering compassionate care under supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, wound care, specimen collection, and patient education. A valid CNA and enrollment in an accredited nursing program are required, with BCLS to be completed within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), monitor vitals, support mobility and comfort.
• Perform basic nursing tasks under supervision as experience grows (wound care, catheter care, specimen collection).
• Document care and communicate updates to the nursing team promptly.

Education

Certified Nursing Assistant (NC CNA)

Nursing program enrollment (accredited under 21 NCAC 36.0302(b)(1))
