Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Greater Manchester Region seeks a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead Nursing Professional Development and education across its facilities, including Manchester Memorial Hospital. You will influence competency, onboarding and inter-professional learning as part of a regional NPD team.

The role requires a BSN, CT RN licensure, 3+ years of clinical nursing experience with preceptor experience and NPD certification within two years.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Minimum 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment or area of specialty for ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Experience as a preceptor.
• Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH obtained prior to hire date.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Learning Facilitator: Uses educational design and adult learning principles to bridge knowledge gaps identified through learning needs assessment and evaluation of outcomes.
• Collaborative Partner: Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess needs, develop programs, monitor competency and support action plans.
• Role Development: Promotes professional nursing practice and quality patient care per ANA standards.
• Mentor: Advances the nursing profession and the NPD specialty through ongoing professional development.
• Competency Management: Uses tools to capture knowledge, skill, and performance.
• Orientation: Develops and evaluates onboarding programs during changes in roles and practice.
• Change Agent: Drives improvements using change management theories.
• Champion of Scientific Inquiry: Fosters inquiry and use of evidence to improve care.
• Perform other related duties as required
