Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice and the delivery of quality patient care through evidence-based education for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed staff. You will lead educational initiatives in alignment with HCA Healthcare's standards.

The role emphasizes onboarding, competency development, and continuous professional growth, with opportunities to advance practice through research, QI projects, and lifelong learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital is preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license is required.
• Nationally Recognized Specialty certification is preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) is required.
• Ability to Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in the development, coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency.
• Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical education request and development processes.
• Develops activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice. Plans educational content delivery that encourages learner engagement.
