Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional nursing practice by delivering evidence-based education and programs for clinical staff. You will lead onboarding, orientation, and competency initiatives to improve retention and patient care.

The role requires RN licensure, a Bachelor’s in nursing, and 2+ years in clinical education, with travel up to 25%. Master’s is preferred, and you will collaborate with Clinical Development leadership to shape education, implement EBP,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• At least 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership are preferred.
• Active RN license in the practicing state or compact license required.
• Ability to travel up to 25% is required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in onboarding and orientation program development for nursing and healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluations.
• Manages development and evaluation of competency among staff.
• Designs educational activities to address practice gaps for licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Plans educational content delivery to engage learners and improve outcomes.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and participates in research, EBP, and quality improvement.
• Identifies strategies to support lifelong learning and staff skill maturation.
• Utilizes a novice-to-expert framework for staff development.
