Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals North Central Bronx seeks a Nurse Educator to develop, monitor, and evaluate nursing educational programs and orientation. Qualifications

• Requires valid New York State RN license and current registration.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited program.
• Three years of nursing experience, including one year in nursing education, or Nurse Educator certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing educational programs and activities for an assigned health care setting; provides continuous education and training to nursing staff; assesses educational needs of staff.
• Participates in planning and conducting nursing staff development programs.
• Plans, organizes, coordinates and evaluates in-service nursing orientation; maintains records of orientation, staff development, and education activities; submits mandatory reports.
• Identifies learning needs and collaborates with disciplines to assess, plan, implement and evaluate education and training programs.
• Conducts program evaluations measuring learning impact against goals to improve clinical care and staff performance.
• Monitors learners’ progress and revises orientation and teaching methods as needed.
